Bazaar: Proceed to the fascinating Khan El-Khalili Bazaar \u2013 reputed to be the largest bazaar in the Middle East. Originally founded as a watering stop for caravanserai in the 14th century, the bazaar has now grown to vast proportions. As you wander through the labyrinth of narrow streets you will find workshops and stalls selling all manner of things from woodwork, glassware and leather goods to perfumes, fabrics and Pharaonic curiosities. The NMEC is the first of its kind in Egypt and the Arab world. The Hanging Church is built into the walls of the watergate of the Roman fortress and is possibly the oldest Christian church in Egypt. Dedicated to the Virgin Mary, it is one of Cairo’s most beautiful churches. Continue to the Monastery and Church of St George This is not an old church, dating from 1909, but there has been a church in Coptic Cairo dedicated to the Martyr since the 10th century. It is one of the few remaining circular churches in the Middle East. Your next stop is the Abu Serga, one of the places where the Holy Family rested after fleeing Israel from King Herod. There are 24 marble columns lining the central court, and a series of 12th-century icons depicting the 12 apostles. The Coptic Museum was founded in 1910 by Marcus Simaika Pasha and is the most recently built of Cairo’s major museums. The museum is home to one of the richest collections of Coptic Christian art in the world, featuring antiquities of the Coptic period (300-1000 AD). Around 16,000 pieces are displayed in the museum, arranged where possible in chronological order.

Sultan Hassan Mosque Although it stands in the shadow of the Citadel, Sultan Hassan\u2019s Madrassa-Mosque still manages to make a strong impression. The building is a massive example of Mamluk architecture, Built between 1356 and 1363, The mosque is also considered one of the largest, not only in Cairo but in the whole Islamic world, measuring some 492 feet (150 meters) long and 118 feet (36 meters) high. The highest minaret is 223 feet (68 meters) tall.<\/span><\/p>

Continue to another famous Mosque, Al-Rifa\u2019i Mosque. The building is located opposite the Mosque-Madrassa of Sultan Hassan, which dates from around 1361 and was architecturally conceived as a complement to the older structure. This was part of a vast campaign by the 19th-century rulers of Egypt to both associate themselves with the perceived glory of earlier periods in Egypt\u2018s Islamic history and modernize the city. The Catacombs of Kom E-Shouqafa, these tombs were tunnelled into bedrock at the time of the Antonine emperors in the 2nd century AD for a single wealthy family still practising the ancient religion. Although the funerary motifs are purely ancient Egyptian, the architects and artists were schooled in the Greco-Roman style.<\/span><\/p>

Alexandria Roman Theater is located in the central region of Alexandria city at Kom el-Dikka. Bordered by Horrya Street in the north, Nabi Daniel Street in the west, Abdel Moneim Street in the south and Saphia Zaghloul Street from the eastern side, Roman Theatre is one of the symbols of Alexandria city.<\/span><\/p>

Alexandria Library Shaped like a massive, partly hidden, tilted disc rising up from the Mediterranean, the Bibliotheca Alexandrina evokes the image of a rising sun, a source of light and enlightenment. The Bibliotheca was inaugurated in 2002 as a resurrection of the ancient Great Library of Alexandria, which had formed the cornerstone of ancient intellectual life. Aside from a library displaying books on seven levels that form a \u201cpyramid of knowledge,\u201d the cultural complex also includes other specialized libraries, museums, exhibition areas, education centres, and an international conference centre.
