IAOM MEA is offering a fully funded scholarship to selected candidates from the Middle East and Africa for a 6-month Advanced Milling Technology Training Program at CERIC — a premier technical training center located in Casablanca, Morocco.

Delivered entirely in Arabic, the program combines classroom instruction, laboratory training, industry site visits, and a supervised professional internship, equipping participants with the practical skills and knowledge needed for a successful career in the milling and grain processing sector.

About the National Flour Milling Federation (FNM)

The National Flour Milling Federation (FNM) is the professional body representing Morocco’s industrial flour milling sector. Established by Law 12-94 in 1995, FNM succeeded the former Association of Flour Milling (APM), which was originally founded in 1937.

FNM plays a vital role in Morocco’s economic development and contributes significantly to national food security by uniting the country’s key milling operators. It also acts as a strategic driver for modernization and innovation in the sector.

FNM’s core functions:

  • Define the strategic priorities of the flour milling industry
  • Support modernization and upgrading of member milling units
  • Develop and implement advisory, training, and support programs
  • Facilitate knowledge sharing through publications and an economic observatory
  • Organize flagship events such as the Grain & Milling Expo to promote innovation and food sovereignty

About CERIC – The Training Hub of the Program

Created in 2019 by the National Federation of Mills (FNM), in partnership with Bühler, US Wheat Associates, France Intercéréales, and with the support of the MCA-Morocco program of the Millennium Challenge Corporation (MCC), CERIC is a state-of-the-art training and research center serving the cereal industry in the Middle East and Africa. It supports the entire value chain, from grain processing to product development, through innovation, technical training, and applied research.

The main CERIC facilities include:

  • IFIM – Milling Training Institute (more than 500 professionals trained)
  • IFMBP – National Institute of Bakery and Pastry Training (over 200 professionals trained since 2024)
  • CPI Lab – Research & development platform for pasta and couscous
  • AGROLAB – Accredited laboratory for cereal and food quality testing
