Walid Diab Ghanem, the Chairman of the Egyptian Miller Mills holds an impressive background in the field of mechanical engineering and the food industry. He obtained his Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from Cairo University in 1992. In 1989, he assumed the role of Manager at the Elrayes Pasta Factory. To further enhance his expertise, he attended a pasta industry course in 1992 at the Northern Crops Institute in North Dakota, USA.
From 1992 to 1993, Ghanem served as the Manager of the renowned Shoman and Ghanem Mill, the largest stone mill in Egypt with a capacity of 180 tons per day. Following this, he took on the role of General Manager at the Egyptian Millers Company from 1993 to 1996. This company was the first private-sector enterprise in Egypt to produce wheat flour with a 72% extraction rate.
Ghanem’s contributions extended beyond his managerial roles. In 1993, he became a Board Member of the first Milling School in Egypt. Seeking to expand his knowledge, he attended a Modern Milling Course at Kansas State University in the United States in 1994. Subsequently, he served as a Board Member of the Egyptian Mills Company, overseeing operations at a mill with a capacity of 500 tons and wheat silos capable of storing 20,000 tons.
In 1996, Ghanem co-founded the Nile Valley Mills Company in Borg El Arab. This new venture featured a 500-ton Ocrim Mill and 25,000 tons of wheat silo storage. Ghanem’s dedication and expertise led him to be appointed as the Managing Director of the Egyptian Millers Company in 1999. He later assumed the position of Chairman, a role he held from 2011 to 2021. Additionally, he served as the Chairman of the Egyptian Company for Bakeries and Food Industries from 2013 to 2021.
Ghanem’s influence extended beyond his company affiliations. He served as the President of the First Conference of Millers of the Middle East, held in Cairo in 2016. Furthermore, he had a Board Member position in the Chamber of Grain Industry within the Federation of Egyptian Industries from 2016 to 2021. Within the same chamber, he served as the Vice President of the Mills Division with a focus on the 72% extraction rate from 2016 to 2021. Additionally, he was Vice President of the Egyptian Milling and Training Society from 2015 to 2021.

Ali Habaj holds an M.B.A. in Marketing from the University of Bristol, UK and a General Management Program for top executives from Harvard University, USA to add to his credentials. Having worked in Oman for over 23 years in management roles, he possesses rich experience of which he led Oman Flour Mills Co. SAOG (OFM) and Atyab Investments from 2000 to 2017. During Habaj’s tenure at OFM, the company’s workforce grew from 220 to 1,500 employees. It was under his leadership that Atyab Investments was created, an investment arm focused on value addition through downstream industries. This is evidenced by a notable achievement in revenue growth from 60 Mn USD in 2010 to 220 Mn USD in 2016. Atyab Investments built Oman’s largest industrial bakery and successfully turned around the country’s major poultry farms- broiler and layer facilities. In addition to this, Atyab Investments is setting up new milling and Grain silo facilities in the Industrial Port of Sohar. During the first half of this financial year, the group’s profits grew by 47% compared to the previous year and this robust growth will be seen in the second half as well. The company will continue with its 5-year vision of investing US $1 Billion in the food sector. He continues to be involved in the industry through different board positions and consultancy assignments for the flour milling industry. He is an active member of the Young President Organization (YPO), held the position of chairman for YPO Oman from 2015-2016 and is the elected Chairman for YPO MENA Gold Regional Chair 2022-2024
